『いろはの門 1』は、現代まで続く江戸幕府を舞台にした歴史ファンタジー漫画です。15年前の江戸城襲撃事件をきっかけに、城の警備体制が見直され、各門に「門官」が配置されるようになりました。そんな中、一橋門の門長・伊呂八は、清水徳川家の兎斗丸の護衛を任されるのですが、護衛を担当した成瀬と増山が傷だらけで戻ってきます。彼らが受けた理不尽な要求を知った伊呂八は、翌日の護衛を交代させることに。しかし、兎斗丸は伊呂八に気付き、ある場所へ向かうよう指示します。その先に何が待っているのか？物語は、江戸の陰に潜む謎と、門官たちの運命が絡み合うドラマへと展開します。

『いろはの門 1』is a historical fantasy manga set in the Edo Shogunate that continues into the modern day. After a 15-year-old attack on Edo Castle, the security system was revised, and ‘monkan’ (gate officers) were stationed at each gate. When the gate chief of the Ichibashi Gate, Iruba, is asked to escort the heir of the Shimoie Tokugawa clan, Ruttamaru, the guards, Shose and Masayama, return injured. Upon learning of the unreasonable demands they faced, Iruba decides to switch the guards for the next day. However, Ruttamaru, impressed by Iruba, instructs him to go to a certain place. What awaits him there? The story unfolds into a drama intertwined with the mysteries hidden in Edo and the fates of the gate officers.
